Trainee Manager/Higher or Degree Apprenticeship

If you are interested in a career in construction management our trainee manager scheme will give you the opportunity to obtain a construction degree, with on the job training, providing you with essential work experience.

The practical skills you learn will be further complemented by our fully funded day release HNC and Degree college courses.

What we offer

On joining our Trainee Managers scheme, you will be embarking on an intensive personal development journey which could last for 5+ years (additonal time may be required dependant on the need to acheive a RICS accreditation as part of the QS Degree Apprenticship programme). Initially you will be completing a 2 year HNC and thereafter, depending on the outcome of that qualification, may have an opportunity to complete a further 3 years in order to achieve a degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.

We offer a structured programme, with a clearly defined career path and salary scale.

Each apprentice’s progress is carefully monitored and regularly reviewed.

Throughout the programme you will be exposed to all aspects of the company, estimating, site management, commercial management and company administration.

We will fund and pay you to attend an approved college or university one day a week and provide you with the opportunity to gain practical experience working four days a week. In order to gain experience in all the companys' departments/scope of works you will either be based at the company’s head office or assigned to work from a project site.

Salary Scale

On your enrolment we will provide you with a defined career path that providing you achieve the milestone targets will show how your salary will increment in stages.

Based on your progress and performance there will be the opportunity to better the median increase.

On Qualification

On completion and awarding of a degree there is the option to decide your preferred career path, which if you were wanting to remain with the company would be either estimating, commercial or project management.

Although a permanent position at the end of the apprenticeship period is not guaranteed, depending on the preferred career path and the company’s needs and availability, it is the company’s stated objective, and where it is possible to do so, to offer apprentices who have achieved a high standard a permanent position.

What we require from you?

Foremost you must be enthusiastic and committed, with solid maths and english skills.

You must demonstrate to us that you have considered carefully the commitment that is required of you in order for you to complete the course.

We need you to be reliable, punctual. Our Head Office and project sites are primarily located within the M25 area and you must have good access to public transport so that you are able to work from the company’s head office and from our site offices.

We require you to be able to work in a team but also have the ability to work independently with limited supervision.

You must be able to demonstrate a good work ethic and a willingness to learn and possess a “can do” attitude.
