Project Description

Chatham Waters was a new residential build consisting of two blocks. One block being 10 stories and the other 15. There were 1, 2, and 3 Bedroom & Penthouse Apartments.

We installed 1,500 door sets spread over the two towers as well as the skirting and window boards to all areas. Our programme consisted of structured visits for the trades within the apartments.

With this coordinated approach and managing teams of carpenters on incentive schemes, the project was run efficiently and economically.

The apartments required a housing unit for the washing machines; in order to minimise noise, we designed and manufactured the units with acoustic pads.

We faced a challenge when the screed was installed unevenly (by others). As our doors had already been installed to finish floor level on 10 floors, this meant altering numerous doors while maintaining the fire ratings.

Some doors required lippings and others had to be removed completely with plasterboard infills added above the door. With these additional amendments we were still able to meet the programme finish date.

We also installed decking to the concourse between the two buildings, the decking extended to create benching and planters.
