Project Description
This project was the redevelopment of Camden Town Hall Annexe. The 1970s concrete frame office building was transformed into a 270 bed luxury boutique hotel called The Standard, London.
The hotel has a 70s Austin Powers Vibe with funky, bold, and contrasting colours and materials. Our Scope of works was varied although predominantly consisted of the timber and metal door sets package.
The challenge was coordinating the expectations of two architects: Orms (Shell & Core) & SHAH (interior design). There were high fire and acoustic specifications to achieve whilst the interior design was bold and bespoke. The bedroom entrance doors were clad in panels with different cut outs for ironmongery and a rectangle shape within which the Hotel would put notices/information for guests.
Additionally, we had to develop the design & produce fire rated corridor doors with large vision panels. These doors had bespoke metal handles with integrated ‘pull’ and ‘push’ signage, they also had full height glazed fire rated side screens.
